We wish to update you on the ongoing matters regarding our intended industrial action:

Conciliation Status The matter is currently under conciliation. The next hearing is scheduled for 24th May 2024, at the Labour Commissioner’s boardroom, located on the 6th floor of the NSSF building.

Meeting with the Principal Secretary Yesterday, the Principal Secretary (PS) met with union officials at the CEO’s office. During this meeting, the PS was briefed on the measures implemented by management, including the upcoming meeting on 23rd May 2024 at the Salaries and Remuneration Commission, which aims to deliberate on our demands and seek an amicable solution.

PS’s Request for Additional Time The PS has firmed up the date and requested additional time to fully resolve the issues at hand.

Union’s Position The union reiterated its stance and committed to providing a response to the PS’s request for additional time today.

The Secretary General of KUDHEIHA on a media briefing, emphasized the union’s commitment to dialogue and, acknowledging the PS’s request, has agreed to extend the period for dialogue by ten days. This extension recognizes that the parties are still under conciliation. However, if no resolution is reached, staff at Kenyatta National Hospital will commence industrial action on 3rd June 2024.
