The Isiolo county Level 5 hospital health workers through its union KUDHEIHA filed a petition against the Isiolo county government, county secretary and county public service board before the employment and labour relations Court seeking the Honourable Court to find that the county had infringed and violated the employees constitutional right as per article 41 of the constitution. The court sought for mandatory injunction against withholding workers salaries , to employ workers on such terms as those outlined in section 37 of the employment act and discrimination be stopped whereby the workers have been exposed to casualisation terms against the laws of Kenya.

The court gave it’s judgement yesterday 24th January 2025 and all prayers were allowed and the county Government were ordered to issue the workers with appointment letters and the court automatically converted their terms into permanent and all Salary arrears be paid .

This is a big win for union and especially to the county government hospital workers who are exposed to unfair labour practices.
